DOOSAN ENGINE RATINGS

HEAVY DUTY ENGINES

These rated engines are based in unlimited usage, with the amount of load averaging up to 90%.

These engines should be at full load for no more than 80% of the time they are operational.

Examples of heavy-duty vessel engines include use in fishing trawlers, pushing vessels, cargo boats and freighters.

MEDIUM DUTY ENGINES

These rated engines are based on usage of 3,000 hours per year, 10 hours per day, with the amount of load averaging up to 70%.

These engines should be at full load for no more than 30% of the time they are operational.

Examples of medium-duty vessel engines include use in pilot boats, escort boats, passenger boats, freighters, ferries, and cruising vessels.

LIGHT DUTY ENGINES

These rated engines are based on usage of 1,000 hours per year, 5 hours per day, with the amount of load averaging up to 50%.

These engines should be at full load for no more than 20% of the time they are operational.

Examples of light-duty vessel engines include use in yachts, cruisers, fast boats, fire pumps.

All power rating follows ISO 8528 guidelines.
